Cavero House
The building we currently refer to as Casa Cavero was actually a hayloft that the family built in the 1950s to expand their outbuildings. It is therefore the most modern building of all those that existed in Morillo at the start of its restoration. The family home was adjacent; opposite it, they had a pen and, next, a whole neighbourhood – Casa Nieves, Ignacia, Carlos, Sastre and Pelaire – which, due to its poor state of repair and risk of collapse, it was decided not to restore and instead to demolish.
Its stones were used in the restoration work of other houses, in the new arcaded square, as well as in the development of the campsite and the streets of the current village. In the first intervention, the hayloft was refurbished as a curious and charming hostel, with rooms on two floors and a fireplace on the ground floor, surrounded by wooden benches functioning as a forum. Finally, it was reformed to adapt each of its three floors as a tourist flat.
